Finding out what point in time is right for some of the most talented players in the nation to make to jump from college to the NFL can be challenging. For Texas football, it cost a solid defense numerous key pieces leaving school early to find out if those players were ready for the next level. Former Longhorns like Baltimore Ravens rookie safety DeShon Elliott and Cincinnati Bengals rookie linebacker Malik Jefferson both left school early to declare for the 2018 NFL Draft.
Both Elliott and Jefferson have seen mixed results so far. Jefferson has yet to make a big impact with the Bengals, but the same cannot be said for Elliott.
