Texas Football in the NFL: Chris Warren III off to best start of offensive Longhorns’ alum

Texas football sent a host of undrafted free agents to the next level following the 2018 NFL Draft. One of those undrafted rookies was the former standout Longhorns’ running back Chris Warren III. Out of all the options the Horns had out of the backfield last season, Warren III might have been the most potent and most underutilized.

Warren III was picked up by the Oakland Raiders on a Rookie Contract following the 2018 NFL Draft, and it’s paying dividends so far. In his first game action, Warren III rushed for 86 yards on 13 carries. One of those 13 rushes went for 26 yards, a game-high against the Detroit Lions.
