The way that senior linebacker Gary Johnson played for previously ranked No. 6 Texas football in Week 9 was not any indication of the way things turned out for his team. The Oklahoma State Cowboys controlled the matchup with the Texas Longhorns most of the way on the way to a deja vu moment in a 38-35 loss at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater on Oct. 27.
In a defensive outing in which Texas football looked porous to say the very least, Johnson was a bright spot. He was flying all over the field and was often found in Oklahoma State’s backfield blowing up the play at key times.
