Up until the Week 10 matchup against the No. 13 ranked West Virginia Mountaineers, No. 17 ranked Texas football had some pretty good luck in terms of staying healthy. Even some of the more significant injuries this fall for Texas football didn’t make for too many missed starts. However, that seems to have all changed on the defensive side of the ball for the Horns.
Just two days before kick-off against West Virginia, the Texas Longhorns announced they would be missing key senior defensive tackle Chris Nelson. For a defensive line that was up and down in last week’s loss to the Oklahoma State Cowboys, a key piece that anchors the group like Nelson is very valuable.
