Going into the first round of the Texas high school football playoffs last week the Texas Longhorns had 17 commits (not counting 5 injured players) whose seasons were still alive. That number was reduced by 7 by the end of last week’s playoff action.
Two commits who play for ranked 5A teams saw their seasons end in first round upsets, but the other five losses were more or less expected. Dramatic games were few and far between for the 12 teams of Longhorn commits that won their games last week. Jalen Milroe’s Katy Tompkins team won by 7 points, while Andrej Karic’s Southlake Carroll team won by 78.
