Texas Football: Calvin Anderson could be the nation’s best grad transfer

Texas football got potentially its best instant impact player in the form of offensive tackle Calvin Anderson from another in-state school in the Rice Owls. He should be able to come in and replace former All-American left tackle Connor Williams, who is now with the Dallas Cowboys.

Anderson was the first of two grad transfers that the Longhorns were able to reel in. The other was a former starting running back for the Cal Golden Bears in Tre Watson. Yet, Anderson will be counted on more often to perform well than Watson. The offensive line also will have a direct impact on how all the running backs will do for the Horns this year.
