The tight end position for the Texas football program fits into the same category as a handful of others on both sides of the ball. Outside of junior tight end Cade Brewer, this position group just doesn’t have much proven experience on hand. Redshirt freshman Reese Leitao is the second-longest tenured player in the tight end room entering the 2019 regular season.
Yet, there is a lot of young talent and depth at tight end for the Texas Longhorns football program in 2019. Brewer, Leitao, and a pair of true freshman in Brayden Liebrock and Jared Wiley highlight a position group that should be good for the Longhorns for a long while heading into the future.
