In his post-Texas football program tenure, former defensive coordinator Todd Orlando could be a hot commodity for a number of coaching vacancies at other Power Five and better Group of Five destinations. Orlando was one of a number of notable coaching changes for Texas since the end of the regular season.
While Orlando wasn’t the worst coordinator in the world for Texas over the course of the last three years, his departure seemed necessary for Herman to salvage the reputation of this defense heading into next year. According to ESPN stats, Texas ranked outside the top 55 in the nation in defensive efficiency.
