It was a very nice start to Week 2 of the 2018 regular season for Texas football, which delivered the first victory for head coach Tom Herman’s squad. However, the second half saw the effort go pretty far downhill for the Longhorns. The offense started to slow down in terms of production again in the second half.
Texas had a first-half lead at 21-0 in which it looked like sophomore quarterback Sam Ehlinger could take hold of this game for the rest of the way. An early second-half touchdown from the Tulsa Golden Hurricane started to make Texas football fans sweat a bit since its offense had been moving the ball pretty efficiently for most of the game.
