Fans of Texas football have cried out for a switch at running back solely to true freshman Keaontay Ingram with little action shown yet from the coaching staff. At the beginning of the 2018 campaign, Texas football looked to split action between three running backs which included Ingram, senior grad transfer Tre Watson, and sophomore Daniel Young.
Ingram was the most elusive and potent of the group entering the regular season, but no one knew exactly what he would bring to the table since he is a true freshman. Watson was unproven with the Longhorns, but had more career rushing yards than the rest of the running backs on the Texas football roster combined in the preseason.
