During his tenure at the Texas football program, former head coach Mack Brown coached a lot of uber-talented and nationally prominent teams. Most notable of those was the 2005 team, led by superstar quarterback Vince Young, that would upend the USC Trojans in the 2006 Rose Bowl/BCS National Championship Game. That 2005-06 Texas squad won the program’s last national title, and created an instant classic Rose Bowl game in the process.
There were so many more accomplishments that Brown reeled in during his time as head coach on the Forty Acres. He had one Heisman Trophy winner (likely should’ve had two with at least either VY or Colt McCoy) to go along with that one national title and
Brown was also a two-time Big 12 Coach of the Year, one-time Paul “Bear” Bryant Coach of the Year, and one-time ACC Coach of the Year.
