Wide receiver was a tough point for the past few days for the 2020 and 2021 Texas football recruiting classes. Earlier this week, the 2020 Texas football recruiting class missed on five-star Calabasas wide receiver to the Oregon Ducks. And on Aug. 1, the 2021 Texas football recruiting class missed out on four-star North Shore High School and Houston, TX, wide receiver Shadrach Banks.
Wilson was a bigger miss for the Texas Longhorns football program on the recruiting trail than Banks. But Texas faced more of an uphill battle in trying to nab Wilson since he hails from California and was recruited mostly by PAC-12 schools like Oregon, the Washington Huskies, and USC Trojans.
