The Texas football faithful, and the football world in general, lost a great one this weekend in former superstar running back Cedric Benson. At the very young age of 36, Benson passed due to a motorcycle accident in Austin on the night of Aug. 17.
Benson is one of the most beloved running backs that rolled through the Forty Acres in the past two decades. He came in line with a great number of Texas running backs included Heisman winner Ricky Williams, Heisman finalist D’Onta Foreman, and Jamaal Charles. But none of those aforementioned running backs quite had the consistency that Benson brought to the table for Texas.
