Texas flips LB Jaylan Ford from Utah

Texas and Utah aren’t scheduled to play on the field until the calendar flips over, but the two programs have already become familiar with each other on the recruiting trail lately.

The Utes were able to pry Van Fillinger and Ty Jordan away from the Longhorns this month, and today Texas returned the favor by flipping and signing Frisco Lone Star linebacker Jaylan Ford.

Flipping Ford from the Utes gives the Longhorns their first true off the ball linebacker for the 2020 class. While he doesn’t have stats out for his senior season yet, per 247Sports Ford had a very productive junior season where he totaled 105 tackles (8 TFLs), 8 PBUs, 3 forced fumbles, and 3 interceptions.
