Texas faces must-win road game against LSU

With parity around the nation’s best basketball conference, the SEC is a make-or-miss league, as evidenced by the Texas Longhorns producing quality looks but proving unable to make them in Wednesday’s 72-69 loss to the No. 23 Ole Miss Rebels in Oxford, including an open three for star guard Tre Johnson with 12 seconds remaining.

In Baton Rouge to face the LSU Tigers on Saturday, the Horns don’t get any credit for moral victories, but the late-game execution is heartening for head coach Rodney Terry’s team, which has played up-and-down defense over the course of a 3-5 start to conference play that has included seven games against ranked opponents.
