Texas Longhorns junior forward Gerald Liddell has elected to transfer from the program, the school announced before Saturday’s game in Lawrence against the Kansas Jayhawks.
“We are very appreciative of Gerald’s efforts during his time in our program,” head coach Shaka Smart said. “We wish Gerald well in the future as he moves forward.”
The 6’6, 180-pounder was ranked as the No. 49 prospect nationally when he signed with the Longhorns as a member of the 2018 recruiting class before averaging 1.1 points per game as he played sparingly as a freshman. During the 2019-20 season, Liddell saw his playing time increase to 18.
