On Wednesday night, rising Baton Rouge (La.) University Lab product Jaquelin Roy became the first 2020 defensive tackle to notch an offer from the Texas Longhorns, he announced on Twitter.
The four-star prospect is now up to nine offers, as Texas joins Alabama, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Lafayette, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Texas A&M, and Tulane as the programs currently in pursuit of his services.
LSU is yet to jump into the mix, but as expected, the Tigers are considered a favorite, as all three of Roy’s Crystal Ball projected favor Ed Orgeron’s program. The fact that Louisiana natives are so difficult to pry away from LSU, however, hasn’t dissuaded Tom Herman and his staff from recruiting The Boot.
