Texas Longhorns redshirt sophomore defensive tackle Daniel Carson announced his entrance into the NCAA transfer portal on Friday.
The 6’4, 276-pounder signed with Texas in the 2018 recruiting class out of the Kansas City area, Carson was a consensus three-star prospect ranked as the No. 23 strong-side defensive end nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
Carson redshirted during his first season on the Forty Acres, then appeared in four games last season, making one tackle against Louisiana Tech. When new defensive coordinator Chris Ash arrived at Texas and shifted to a four-down front, Carson moved inside from defensive end to defensive tackle.
