GWANGJU, South Korea – Former University of Texas diver Murphy Bromberg teamed with Olympian Katrina Young to earn a third-place finish in the 10m synchro event at the FINA World Championships held in Gwangju, South Korea on Sunday. The top-three finish gives Team USA a spot at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and makes Bromberg the highest-finishing Longhorn diver at the World Championships since Laura Wilkinson won gold on platform in 2005.
Sitting in sixth-place after the first round of dives, Bromberg and Young worked their way back into the top-three (304.86) with back-to-back 70-plus point totals in the third and fourth rounds.
