Texas senior defensive end Breckyn Hager is trading in his No. 44 jersey once again.
Hager announced via his Instagram account on Friday that he will wear No. 60 during Saturday's Red River Showdown against Oklahoma.
The number has a special place in Longhorn football history. Tommy Nobis, a legendary ex-Texas linebacker and former Atlanta Falcons star who died last December, famously wore the number with the Longhorns in the 1960s. Hager's father, Britt, another famous ex-Texas linebacker who has the most tackles in program history, also wore the number in the 1980s. Nobis' No. 60 is now one of six numbers retired at Texas.
