Nobody had good feelings about the Texas Longhorns basketball program earlier this month.
There were questions about Shaka Smart’s job status and the Longhorns were reeling, losing five of their final six games to leave them at the .500-mark and outside the NCAA Tournament.
Things have changed in the NIT.
Texas isn’t treating it half-heartedly as a consolation prize. Instead, the Longhorns played their best game in weeks on Wednesday night, rolling to a 68-55 victory over Colorado in the NIT quarterfinals at Frank Erwin Center.
