Texas Longhorns redshirt junior cornerback Josh Thompson announced on Monday that he’ll return for a fifth season on the Forty Acres:
The 6’0, 198-pounder is now one of the last players on the roster who committed to Charlie Strong in the 2017 recruiting class before the arrival of Tom Herman. Out of Nacogdoches, Thompson signed as a consensus four-star prospect ranked just outside the top 300 players in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
As a freshman, Thompson played in nine games, primarily on special teams, recording 13 tackles and one pass break up.
