The Texas Basketball team opened up Big 12 play with a 67-47 win in Manhattan, KS, over the Kansas State Wildcats. It was a much needed confidence booster for a team that had dropped four of seven games, including three games at home to unranked opponents.
Texas basketball handled their first true road game of the season with poise, shooting a season high 51.9 percent from downtown on 27 attempts.
The offense was led by sophomore Jase Febres who scored a career high 23 points while shooting 7-for-9 from deep.
Febres set the tone early with back-to-back triples from the left wing amid a 9-2 run midway through the first half.
