The first commitment for the 2019 Texas basketball recruiting class is finally here by landing the highly-touted four-star shooting guard Donovan Williams. This Missouri City, TX, native and Elkins High School product announced his commitment to the Longhorns and head basketball coach Shaka Smart on Sep. 12.
This long-awaited first commit seemed to take forever while the rest of the Big 12 basketball programs were pulling away from the Horns in the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings. Moreover, Texas is now one of seven Big 12 programs that have just one commitment lined up for the 2019 class.
