The Mecca of college hoops in the Big 12 for a while was the Kansas Jayhawks. That still stands today for Kansas since it’s tied for the longest streak for consecutive seasons winning a regular season conference title. Kansas edged out other programs like the Texas Longhorns for an active streak of 14 straight regular season titles in the Big 12. Improved efforts for Texas basketball recruiting to edge out the Jayhawks in the team rankings for prospects more often than not moving forward would be a good way to start approaching Kansas in the Big 12 standings.
Texas basketball recruiting got itself back in the top 30 ranked classes in the nation for the 2019 class by landing a key four-star center commit in Wolfeboro, NH, native center Kai Jones.
