With the usual starting center for Texas basketball from last season making his way to the New Orleans Pelicans via the 2019 NBA Draft, rising junior big man Jericho Sims could finally be stepping to the forefront for this team. It seems like Sims keeps getting stuck behind a premier big that winds up as a first round pick in the NBA Draft after just one year on campus.
Last season, it was Jaxson Hayes (who was picked by the Pelicans eighth overall last week) who stepped to the forefront ahead of Sims in the frontcourt rotation.
