The Texas basketball season is still alive and well as they prepare for a NIT semifinal matchup against in-state rival TCU.
Texas basketball, after narrowly missing out on an NCAA Tournament bid, accepted a NIT bid and were slotted as one of the four number two seeds in the postseason tournament. It is the fifth time in program history that the Longhorns have appeared in the NIT.
The standards for the second most prominent sport at the University of Texas are high, as they should be. With the resources the university, the boosters, and the city of Austin provide, every season should be NCAA Tournament or bust.
