Texas Basketball: 3 reasons Longhorns connected the dots at the right time

At first glance, undefeated Texas basketball looked very good heading into the Nov. 16 battle against The Citadel. Three wins to start the regular season over two teams with a winning record in the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks and Eastern Illinois Panthers is a decent start. Then, Texas basketball hung on against an NCAA Tournament team from last season in the Arkansas Razorbacks.

In reality, Texas basketball wasn’t close to putting it all together on the floor yet. Before facing The Citadel, Texas basketball had a lot to improve upon to be ready to contend in the Big 12. The expectations for head Texas basketball coach Shaka Smart to contend in the Big 12 season meant he needed to get off to a solid start.
