The Texas basketball program had a mostly solid start to the 2019-20 regular season. Falling short against head coach Patrick Ewing and the talented and young Georgetown Hoyas didn’t look all that bad when everything rounded out in the 2K Empire Classic last week at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Head Texas basketball coach Shaka Smart has his team sitting with a 5-1 record on the season. After falling short against Georgetown at MSG, Texas responded by beating the Cal Golden Bears by a double-digit score. Cal could be an NCAA Tournament team this season, so that was a second good win to add to the resume.
