The entire scoop of the Texas basketball program changed once now former sixth-year head coach Shaka Smart bolted from Austin to take the same job with the Marquette Golden Eagles in his home state of Wisconsin. The writing was on the wall for Smart on the Forty Acres following their disappointing end to last season. But the outlook of the program looks much brighter in the past couple of weeks.
After Smart left Austin to take the Marquette head coaching job to replace the departed Steve Wojciechowski back on March 26, it didn’t take Texas athletic director Chris del Conte too long to find his replacement.
