The NCAA Transfer Portal swallowed up a ton of the depth coming out of the Texas basketball program for the past two off-seasons. Texas basketball lost a valuable piece to the backcourt rotation earlier this week, with the former transfer shooting guard Elijah Mitrou-Long putting his name back out on the open market for the second time in the past two years.
Mitrou-Long just transferred into the Texas basketball program originally last off-season. He didn’t last long on the Forty Acres before he wanted to make his way out again. Head Texas basketball coach Shaka Smart now has an additional scholarship freed up to try and fill this newly formed void in the guard rotation.
