AUSTIN — When he arrived at Texas, Charlie Strong hired five assistant coaches to oversee his offense. Two years later, all of them are gone.
Running backs coach Tommie Robinson, who’d been the only remaining member of Strong’s original offensive staff, is leaving the program and is expected to take a job at USC, a UT source confirmed Monday. The news first was reported by 247Sports.
Robinson’s two-year contract with the Longhorns was set to expire at the end of this month, and had not yet been renewed. Tight ends coach Bruce Chambers and wide receivers coach Les Koenning were fired after their first season, and quarterbacks coach Shawn Watson and offensive line coach Joe Wickline were dismissed last month.
