Texas junior pitcher Nolan Kingham didn’t get the starting nod on Friday evening as the Longhorns begin a three-game series with Big 12 rival Oklahoma.
Per a report from the Austin American-Statesman, Kingham was “scratched for not adhering to the team’s academic attendance policy.”
In his place, right-handed freshman Bryce Elder got the start, which marked his first career start at Texas. Although Kingham didn’t serve as the Longhorns starter on Friday, he is still available to pitch over the weekend.
Following its Friday meeting, Texas will also square off with the Sooners on Saturday at 8 p.
