OMAHA, Neb. – Texas picked up an eighth-place finish in the men's 100-meter breaststroke and closed in on at least two Olympic team berths Monday on night two of the 2016 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials.
All-America rising senior Will Licon competed in his first final at a U.S. Olympic Trials and took eighth at 1:00.61. The El Paso native holds the American record in the 200-yard breaststroke and is scheduled for the 200m breaststroke and 200 individual medley later in the week.
The Texas men opened night two of Trials by sending four Longhorns to Tuesday's 200 freestyle final and all but assuring that at least two Texas swimmers will make the U.
