AUSTIN, Texas - The University of Texas Swimming and Diving team won two medals for Team USA at the 2019 World University Games in Naples, Italy on Thursday.
Texas alumnus Tate Jackson was joined by Zach Apple, Dean Farris and Robert Howard to win the gold medal in the 4x100 free relay with a time of 3:11.03. All four American splits were the fastest splits in the field, including Jackson's anchor leg of 48.02. The Brazilian relay finished more than four seconds later (3:15.27) for the silver medal.
