AUSTIN — Texas did not wait long to find a replacement for Charlie Strong.
The same day the Longhorns officially announced Strong’s firing after three seasons, sources confirmed to the Houston Chronicle and San Antonio Express-News that Houston’s Tom Herman has agreed to become UT’s next coach.
Herman, 41, built a reputation as one of the rising stars of college coaching during two seasons with the Cougars, who he led to a 22-4 record including six consecutive victories over ranked teams.
