Snooze, you lose? Maybe not -- how OU, Texas, others are making college football games 'virtually endless'

On what he thought would be an otherwise normal college football Saturday in October, Craig Way checked into a hotel near the Kansas City airport and at 7 p.m. turned on the television to catch the start of the Oklahoma-Texas Tech game.

Instead of watching, however, the radio voice of the Texas Longhorns, having already worked the Kansas State-Texas game and driven two hours from Manhattan, soon fell into a deep sleep.

When Way opened his eyes 90 minutes later, he found the Sooners and Red Raiders still in the second quarter. Hungry, he set off for dinner at a nearby pizza place.
