SMU great Eric Dickerson, former Texas coach Fred Akers headline Cotton Bowl Hall of Fame class

SMU running back Eric Dickerson and former Texas coach Fred Akers are among the new six-member class for the Cotton Bowl Hall of Fame.

Other selections include Southern California offensive tackle Tony Boselli, Notre Dame linebacker Bob Golic, Arkansas quarterback Fred Marshall and the late Dan Petty, who served as Cotton Bowl Athletic Association team selection chairman.

Induction is scheduled for noon April 22 at the west concourse of AT&T Stadium. The ceremony is free and open to the public.

“Those extraordinary individuals whose unique talents formed the pageantry and prestige of one of college football’s most historic post-season bowl games are showcased in the Cotton Bowl Hall of Fame,” said Jay McAuley, the chairman of the CBAA.
