KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Six Texas players showed off their best game faces for the cover of the school's preseason basketball media guide and on a billboard next to I-35 in Austin.
"Right now half of them are not playing," coach Shaka Smart said before a potential make-or-break opening game Wednesday with Iowa State in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship.
"Going into the year, we knew those were going to be our core and we felt really good about those guys. We're down three of those six guys. As my college coach used to say, it's too late to cancel.
