GREEN BAY, Wisc. – With seven players taken on the final day of this year's NFL Draft on Saturday, Texas Football established a new program record for a seven-round draft with 12 total Longhorns selected in 2025, besting the previous program record of 11, which was set in 2024.
The Horns had 17 picks in 1984, and 12 in 1982, but those drafts went 12 rounds. By comparison, through seven rounds in those years, UT had 10 in 1984 and nine in 1982.
Texas has now had 28 players selected in four drafts under head coach Steve Sarkisian, which surpasses the Longhorns' total of 27 for the 10 drafts prior to his arrival.
