SEC says Tennessee, not Texas, is the real ‘UT’

It was only a matter of time before the debate finally boiled over once the Texas Longhorns and rival Oklahoma Sooners joined the Southeastern Conference: who is the real “UT”—Texas, or Tennessee?

In Austin and across the wider Texas fan network, “UT” is a common abbreviation for the University of Texas. In fact, debatably the greatest college football rivalry across history, as well as the two most reputable flagship universities in the nation’s second-largest state, are defined by a combined four letters—U, T, A, and M.

But the SEC seemingly says otherwise in the UT debate.
