IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference announced Wednesday the University of Texas' placement of 18 student-athletes on the 2016 Academic All-Big 12 Rowing Team. Fourteen Longhorns earned first-team honors and four Longhorns were named to the second team.
A total of 140 Big 12 student-athletes earned first-team selections while 18 student-athletes were selected to the second team. The team includes honorees from the five Big 12 rowing schools – Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Kansas State and West Virginia – in addition to rowing affiliate members Alabama, Old Dominion and Tennessee.
To qualify for the Academic All-Big 12 Team, student-athletes must maintain a minimum 3.
