AUSTIN, Texas – Two-time defending national champion Texas Rowing is ranked No. 1 on the first Pocock CRCA Coaches Poll, the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association announced on Wednesday. It marks the second consecutive year in which Texas opens the season atop the rankings.
The Longhorns received 19 of 20 first-places votes to retain the No. 1 ranking for the 12th consecutive poll.
Stanford, the runner-up at each of the last two national regattas, was ranked second and received the other first place-vote, while Yale, Prince and Washington round out the top five.
The seven-time defending Big 12 Conference champions return three student-athletes who earned CRCA All-American accolades during last year's championship season.
