Reynolds selected by Cubs on day three of MLB Draft

AUSTIN, Texas – Texas junior third baseman Ryan Reynolds was selected by the Chicago Cubs with the 433rd pick in the 14th round of the 2019 Major League Baseball Draft on Wednesday.

Reynolds started 174 career games in three seasons for the Longhorns, including 168 at third base. He finished his career with 38 doubles and 13 home runs.

As a junior in 2019, Reynolds was the only Longhorns to start every game during the season. He batted .272 with 32 RBI and 24 runs scored, while hitting 11 doubles and four home runs. Named All-Big 12 honorable mention, Reynolds had 15 multiple-hit games and nine multi-RBI games.
