The No. 9-ranked Texas Longhorns prevailed on Saturday, edging out the Baylor Bears, 23-17. On a day where Sam Ehlinger left the game with a shoulder injury, multiple freshmen stepped up and made key plays in part to victory.
Keaontay Ingram topped 100 yards rushing, Caden Sterns had an interception leading to a field goal, and D’Shawn Jamison had a 17-yard reception to set up that field goal attempt right before halftime. With the help of these true freshman, the Longhorns now sit alone atop the Big 12 conference at 6-1 and 4-0 in conference play.
