AUSTIN — After 30 days and an untold number of potential candidates, Texas’ long and winding search for a baseball coach has come to an end.
Tulane’s David Pierce, a Houston native and former Rice assistant, has agreed to become the Longhorns’ new head coach, according to multiple reports Wednesday. Pierce’s hiring first was reported by the Austin American-Statesman.
