Since college football non-conference scheduling now operates a decade or more in advance, Texas Longhorns athletics director Chris Del Conte is seeking new opponents past the 2027, with a Tuesday report from Horns247 indicating that the Georgia Bulldogs are one of the targets.
A source told the website that the potential home-and-home series could begin in 2028, the year after Texas plays to end a stretch of high-profile opponents that will include LSU, Alabama, Ohio State, and Michigan. In past years, the Horns played series against the Fighting Irish before completing a home-and-home against the Trojans this season.
