The careers of two Texas Longhorns football players are over after suffering injuries that will cause them to take medical scholarships, sources told Horns Digest on Thursday.
Junior tight end Blake Whiteley suffered an ACL injury in fall camp last season that caused him to miss the entire campaign and spring practice, while senior wide receiver Ty Templin suffered a similar injury around the same time.
The school has not yet confirmed the news as of Thursday evening.
The prospective loss of Whiteley is significant for the ‘Horns — the tight end position has suffered numerous setbacks in recent years and Whiteley is now another footnote in that long and unfortunate story.
