Report: Texas player's father suffers cardiac arrest before West Virginia game

A Longhorns player's father was taken to the hospital by emergency personnel after collapsing before Saturday's game at Darrell K Royal — Texas Memorial Stadium, according to the Austin American Statesman's Brian Davis.

Davis reported the 60-yard fan suffered cardiac arrest outside the stadium. He was transported in "life threatening" condition, but is now stable, according to Davis.

It is unclear which player the fan is related to.

The family of the collapsed man from pre-game asked Texas officials not to say anything. Now, UT will confirm it's a player's father.
