Report: Texas Longhorns basketball losing key assistant to head coaching job

AUSTIN -- The Texas men's basketball team is losing a key member of its coaching staff.

Associate head coach Darrin Horn will head to Northern Kentucky to be the next head coach, per a report Tuesday evening from Gary Parrish of CBS Sports.

Horn will replace former Northern Kentucky head coach John Brannen, who left to take over at Cincinnati earlier this month. Northern Kentucky has made the NCAA tournament twice in the last three seasons.

Darrin Horn has reached an agreement in principle to become the next head coach at Northern Kentucky, a source told @CBSSports.
